We cannot thank you enough for being a part of this journey of building a school with us outside the town of Jinja, Uganda.
When we asked our neighbors, "how could we best meet your needs and provide support?" they replied, "please send our children to school." We have been so blessed to have already raised the funding to purchase land, provide a clean water well, build phase one of the school, build a church and open two classrooms. We have neighbors pleading with us to open additional classrooms. Our currently enrolled students are sponsored by families across the world, however, their families are making investments in Redeemer Academy and taking ownership in the ways they can. We have four grandmas who care for 25 children between them all. There is no way they could afford school fees, but they still have something they can give. All of the grandmas are now serving at the school one day a week . They arrive at 6am to prepare breakfast(Posho-creamy hot cereal) for the children and staff each morning. They stay until all kids are fed, kitchen is clean, dishes are done, and then the walk down the mountain back to their red brick homes. We believe in partnering. We believe everyone has something they can give. We believe in empowerment. We believe this school will be a catalyst to break the cycle of poverty in our village.
